Overview
Twofold (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a personal and shared household finance app for couples. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Twofold is not a bank, lender, or investment advisor. You enter your own financial information manually.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address, password (stored securely by our auth provider), and display name.
- Profile preferences: default currency and a pairing code used to link with your partner.
- Financial data you provide: wallets, accounts, balances, transactions, and split preferences. This is data you type in — we do not connect to your bank unless you choose to do so in a future version.
- Push notification token: if you enable notifications, we store a device token so we can send alerts (for example, when your partner logs a shared expense).
- Technical data: standard service logs from our hosting providers (e.g. request timestamps, error reports) to keep the app reliable and secure.
How we use information
- Authenticate you and sync your data across devices.
- Share relevant data with your paired partner (Ours wallets, shared transactions, and household settings you choose to share).
- Send optional push notifications you have enabled.
- Operate, maintain, and improve the app.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run the app:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and server functions (data hosted in the cloud).
- Expo / Apple Push Notification service — delivering push notifications when enabled.
- Vercel — web companion and invite links at pocket-sync.vercel.app.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Delete account. Deletion removes your profile, wallets, accounts, and transactions from our systems, subject to brief backup retention by our infrastructure providers.
Your choices
- Disable push notifications in Profile or in iOS/Android system settings.
- Unpair from your partner without deleting your account.
- Request account deletion in the app.
Children
Twofold is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date when we do.
