Overview
Buddy (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a photo-first calorie companion for iPhone, by Mark Raphael Sto. Domingo. This policy describes what the app handles. It matches the App Store privacy label: Data Not Collected.
No account · no cloud
Buddy does not require an account. There is no server for your photos, meals, chat, or settings. We do not sell data, show ads, or track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Information on your iPhone
The app stores this on your device:
- Plate logs — title, calories, protein, carbs, fat, a short note, and the photo you logged, saved as a JPEG on the device.
- Plans — meal titles and planned calories you enter.
- Chat — messages you send to Buddy and the replies, stored on the device.
- Kitchen and settings — appliances you stock, optional notes, and your daily calorie target.
- Progress — a local streak and experience count tied to logging.
Camera and photo library access are used only when you choose to log a plate. You can log from a photo you already have if you do not want to use the camera.
On-device estimates
Calorie estimates and Buddy’s replies run on your iPhone with Apple’s on-device Foundation Models when Apple Intelligence is available. If it is not, Buddy uses a local fallback on the device. The photo and conversation are not sent to me.
What we do not collect
Buddy does not include analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. It does not ask to track you. Nothing in the app is sent off your iPhone.
Deleting your data
Delete the app to remove Buddy’s local data from that iPhone. There is no cloud copy to erase.
